I don't know what week it is but things are progressing!

I haven't blogged about the house for so long as there didn't seem to be much to report but now we have frames and roof trusses, it's getting very exciting...much better than just a boring old slab.
I don't really think I'm cut out for building, though, as all the things others find fun, I find torturous!! Anything that involves making a decision is just stressful!!  Now I'm panicing because I know the builder is going to ask me what tiles I'm having and ... well, how should I know???  I haven't seen any I like!!!

Week 4

 

Well it's been a month now and we actually have a slab!  A slab seems to be something of a milestone in building.  When everyone asks how it's going and you say 'Oh we have a slab', the comment is met with oooohs, aaaahs and wows!   We still have many months and stresses to go but it's looking very good at the minute!

Dougal had a lot of fun running around sniffing all the new smells... mostly wild animal poo!

Week 3: Ferral Cow

The other day I was talking with my colleagues about my ferral cow problem and they thought I was having serious issues with a female coworker!!  But no, my serious issues really are with a ferral cow!  First we had to fence the dam to stop the cow ripping up the liner, now it looks like we'll have to fence the building site to stop her damaging the footings, concrete slab and walls!!!  The slab is a worry as we are having a bare concrete floor so it needs to look good. She really is one angry cow!!  We contacted the council to see if they would shoot it, but they said it wasn't their problem unless she was a danger to society!!  So it looks like I'll be digging into the funds again to buy fencing ...grrrrr... I'd much rather spend the money on holidays!!
